“In the decade preceding the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the global intentional homicide rate remained stable at around 6 victims per 100,000 population each year. Between 2015 and 2024, however, the rate declined by 14%, falling from 5.9 to 5.1 victims per 100,000 population. If the downward trend observed during 2015–2024 were to continue through 2030, the global homicide rate could reach 4.5 victims per 100,000 population, representing an overall decline of roughly 25% since 2015.”
