“The spokesperson for the Iraqi Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, told the state-run news agency (INA) on Monday that poverty rates have clearly declined in the last few years.

Al-Hindawi indicated that the poverty rate fell from 24 percent in 2022 to 17.5 percent in 2024, according to economic and social surveys as well as population census statistics.”
