Electricity Access Reaches over 97 Percent in Nepal Municipalities

“The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has released a white paper outlining the current state of the country’s electricity sector.

The document was unveiled within a month of Executive Director Hitendra Dev Shakya assuming office.

According to the white paper, electricity access has now reached 97.5% of municipalities.

On a ward level, the coverage is 95%, while based on household structures, electricity access stands at 91.4%.”

Spanish Electricity Blackout Drives Use of Elon Musk’s Starlink

“Spanish and Portuguese mobile and internet users turned to Elon Musk’s Starlink in record numbers on Monday, as a widespread electricity blackout on the Iberian peninsula exposed vulnerabilities in telecoms networks.

Usage of the Starlink satellite communications service rose by 35 per cent above average when telecoms coverage dropped in the two countries, according to data analysed by the Financial Times. Usage was 60 per cent higher in Spain than average on Tuesday, as mobile networks struggled to get back up to speed.”

BYD’s 5-Minute 400km EV Charging Breakthrough

“BYD has unveiled its groundbreaking Super e-Platform, setting a new global benchmark for EV technology. The platform boasts 1,000 kW ultra-fast charging (1 MW), enabling 400 km (249 miles) of range in just 5 minutes – twice the speed of Tesla’s Tesla’s latest Superchargers (500kW).

The breakthrough, part of the all-new BYD Super e-Platform, was unveiled on March 17 at BYD’s headquarters in Shenzhen.”
